It was some years ago, or November of 2004 to be more precise, when i was first introduced to Phaneng Village in Upper Assam. Nestled between the cloistered Patkai rainforest range and the Tirap River near Ledo, this small hamlet is home to approximately 150 people of the Tai Phake tribe.
